Juan Bautista De Anza National
Historic Trail Foundation Document The National Park
Service is starting the process of preparing a Foundation Document for
planning and administration for the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail.
The public is invited to join in this effort. The National Park
Service invites you to play a role in charting the trail's future by sharing your thoughts on what is
most important about the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail,
and to help identify its most pressing threats and its greatest
opportunities. Trail staff will take your thoughts and feedback into
consideration as they prepare the Foundation Document. For information go to: https://parkplanning.nps.gov/projectHome.cfm?projectID=102888 To complete a
five-question questionnaire go to: https://parkplanning.nps.gov/document.cfm?parkID=311&projectID=102888&documentID=113455 The Juan
Bautista De Anza National Historic Trail is of great
importance to all Los Californianos members. The National Park Service
is currently looking at the importance of the Juan Bautista De Anza
National Historic Trail and its future. Los Californianos is
in a unique position to affect the preservation of its members heritage and
connection to the Juan Bautista De Anza National Historic Trail.
Fortunately, Los Californianos members, R. Gordy de Necochea, Member #2432,
Martha Ann Francisca Vallejo McGettigan, Member #1514, Vice-President, Alan
J. Parkin, Sr., Member #2307 and Greg Bernal-Mendoza Smestad, Ph.D., Member
#1651, were invited to participate in the “Advisory Committee” for the National
Park Service, Juan Bautista De Anza National Historic Trail. It is extremely
important that we have a strong presence completing the online five-question
questionnaire at the above website and/or you can send all questions,
comments, and De Anza Trail stories to: Alan J. Parkin, Sr.
at parkinoffice@sbcglobal.net
or R. Gordy de Necochea
at generalnecochea@yahoo.com. Don’t let the
“Cancel Culture” phenomena remove another historic piece of our history.
The future of the Juan Bautista De Anza National Historic Trail
depends on us, the original Colonists that made the trail historic.
