In the past, our organization has helped with the promotion of webinars that the Los Angeles Public Library's Genealogy Garage puts on for the general public. Even though we are a Hispanic genealogy group, we promote the education and knowledge that one may obtain from these presentations. Who knows if your ancestors may have some connection to these areas. Since the courses are free in person and possibly online via YouTube or Facebook, we are letting our members know that these courses are available to you if you sign in to YouTube or Facebook. This upcoming Saturday, 7/15, at 11 a.m. will be The Los Angeles Public Library's free Genealogy Garage online program, spotlighting Ukraine genealogy. Laura Gold, president of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Los Angeles, will touch on ways to find the town of your ancestors and the best resources you can access from afar. She will also discuss hiring local Ukrainian researchers and traveling there once peace is restored (she has traveled extensively in Ukraine!).
