Vital Records: How to Get Them, What Do
They Reveal?
Vital records (birth/marriage/death) provide the
family researcher with “cradle to grave” information on three important events
in a person’s life. These primary documents include other information that can provide further clues and
expand your knowledge of a person’s life and/or their family. In this workshop
you will see samples of vital records, learn how to get copies and which copies
you should ask for, etc. Bring copies of your own family’s vital records to
share (NO ORIGINALS, PLEASE!).
