The San
Diego Hispanic Saturday group met at 1pm on 29 April 2017 at the San Diego
Central Library. We had 11 in
attendance. Ceasar Castro informed the group that the Hispanic Society of
America was going to have their annual conference in California this year. The
conference will be held at the Radisson Ontario Airport Hotel during 18-20
August 2017. Ceasar passed out information on the conference.
The speaker
for day was Carlos M. Yturralde. He talked about how he started doing his
genealogy which lead into the founding of the Hispanic Heritage Project. The
project is dedicated to preserving Latin American colonial era archives. Since its’
inception they have imaged the colonial collection of Nueva Vizcaya in the
Hidalgo del Parrel Archives. Currently they are about to image the colonial
records at the Archivo Histórico de B. C. S. de Pablo L. Martinez in La Paz,
Baja California.
