Announcing General Meeting for February 2015

GSHA-SC is proud to announce that on February 7, 2015 from 10:00 am to 4:00pm, the organization will be hosting their General Meeting for the start of the New Year.

Dr. Carlos R Herrera, noted author and Spanish Colonial scholar, will present his talk on Juan Bauista de Anza: The King's Governor in New Mexico. He will also will discuss the clash between Anza and the Franciscan missionaries who resisted losing power and influence in New Mexico.

After his presentation, GSHA-SC will offer a no-host luncheon of pizza, salad, and beverages.

At two o'clock, there will be a presentation from one of our members on "How City Directories Fill in the Gap." This is a worth while presentation and a "hands on" workshop which will show you how to use city directories and interpret the information they contain. Please bring your information on your ancestors who lived in the United States to see if you are able to find information.

Please view the flyer below for more information on the speaker, schedule and location.
